Excellent - your best choice

Wstecz Animal nutrition is one of the main factors determining the health, growth and maintenance of both physical and mental health in animals. In the wild, animals feed on what is available to them, often following their innate instincts. Kept at home, they rely only on their guardian and his knowledge of the proper nutrition of animals of a given species. The rules of nutrition within taxonomic groups, species, and even individual varieties or individuals are different. To facilitate the issues of proper food selection on the zoological market, we can find a wide range of products whose composition has been properly selected and balanced to meet all the necessary nutritional needs.

The Excellent line of food from the Vitapol brand has one thing in common, the form of the food. It is 100% extruded food, which means that the most important nutrients are in one piece. Not only does this prevent animals from feeding selectively, it also makes proteins, carbohydrates and fats more accessible to animals. At the same time, the digestibility of the fiber increases, and the feed itself is distinguished by increased palatability. In addition, Excellent food can be divided into 2 target groups: food for omnivorous rodents and food for herbivorous animals.

Food for hamsters and gerbils, and for rats and mice, is of course food for omnivorous rodents. The basis of the daily diet of this group of rodents are all kinds of grains and seeds. However, for the proper functioning and development of the body, their diet should also include products of animal origin, which is provided by the Excellent food (addition of poultry meat). In addition, it is varied with vegetables and fruits that provide vitamins and minerals, as well as oil seeds and salmon fat for a beautiful, healthy and shiny coat. The addition of manno-oligosaccharides (MOS) together with fructooligosaccharides (FOS) ensure the proper course of digestive processes in the digestive tract and stimulate the growth of beneficial intestinal microflora.

Herbivores are much more demanding in terms of nutrition: rabbits, home coffee, chinchillas and degus.

Rabbits are typically herbivores, though not rodents, but lagomorphs. Their digestive system is devoid of peristaltic movements, which allow subsequent portions of food to move towards the stomach. Therefore, rabbits eat almost all the time, so that the next bites move the previous one. Therefore, the food we give them must be low in calories, and therefore high in fiber and low in protein. The high presence of fiber in the diet, which is difficult to digest, influenced the unusual diet that allowed for the optimal use of the available food. The eaten food is not fully digested, but only undergoes "pretreatment" thanks to the presence of specialized strains of bacteria. It is then excreted as soft lumps which are immediately re-eaten by the rabbit. Only then are these semi-finished products finally digested and absorbed by the body. The right amount of hay prevents the formation of hair balls, a dangerous phenomenon of blocking the digestive tract due to the accumulation of hair that is swallowed during the cleaning of the animal. Excellent rabbit food was developed on the basis of low-calorie ingredients, mainly from timothy plants and vegetables and an admixture of fruit. There are no cereal seeds in the composition. To ensure proper, systematic grinding of the incisors, the food contains long fibers in the form of dried wheat plants, which enhance the chewing process.

On the other hand, home coffee is a herbivorous rodent whose feeding requires special attention. The organism of domestic coffee, like humans, cannot produce vitamin C on its own, therefore this vitamin must be supplied with the daily diet. The daily requirement for vitamin C is 1 mg for every 100 g of rodent body weight. It may increase with illness, weakness or pregnancy. Vegetables (red sweet pepper, parsley or broccoli) and fruit are an excellent natural source of this vitamin.
Karma Excellent is not only a high content of crude fiber (max. 22%) and no grains, but also the presence of complementary ingredients rich in vitamin C (red pepper, parsley), as well as the addition of this vitamin in the amount of 1000 mg / kg of feed. The basis of each granule is timothy enriched with herbs to ensure proper digestion.

Due to the climate of chinchillas and degus, and the associated poor vegetation, these animals eat modest food, but rich in raw fiber. Their natural food is grasses, leaves, roots, flowers, seeds and bark. Their digestive system gets a sufficient amount of essential nutrients from food.
